Nitin Gambhir is intimately involved in high-stakes intellectual property disputes where he represents technology companies in U.S. district court litigation as well as before the Federal Circuit, International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Nitin focuses his practice on patent infringement and trade secret litigation. When Nitin is not in the courtroom, he is advising companies on IP strategy, particularly with respect to computer-related technologies. He has represented companies specializing in computer networking, telecommunications, memory controllers, medical imaging, sensor technology, entertainment and internet-related systems. Nitin advises clients on freedom to operate, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, as well as, intellectual property evaluations, counseling and licensing strategies. 

Nitin holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California Los Angeles, and received a Certificate in High Technology Law while attending the Santa Clara University School of Law.

While in college, Nitin co-founded multiple startups in the internet-related technology space, further demonstrating the depth of his understanding of the technology sector from the inside, out.

Representative experience

Represented networking company in a patent infringement action. Jury trial resulted in a unanimous verdict for client and determined that infringement of the patents was willful.*

Represented networking company in a patent infringement action; the case settled favorably after the court construed the claims and denied defendant's motions of non-infringement and invalidity.*

Represented DDR DIMM chip manufacturer against allegations of trade secrets theft by former joint venture partner; the court held that the injunction was not justified.*

Represented networking company in a patent, copyright, and trade secret infringement action; after a three-week trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict awarding client US$112m.*

Defended three clients in a patent infringement case involving patents on computer networking technologies; the case was dismissed with prejudice against all clients before claim construction.*
