Intellectual Property

As an associate in our IP, Media & Technology (IPMT) Group, France Vehar focuses her practice for Hogan Lovells on European Union trademarks. She brings experience in opposition and cancellation actions, portfolio management, clearance searches and negotiations, with an emphasis on telecommunications and technology as well as fashion, retail and food and beverage. France clerked in our Düsseldorf IPMT Team and another major international law firm's IP and Corporate Department.

She holds a law degree concentrating on international economic law from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from King's College London. France received a scholarship from the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law for her research on alternative means of IP enforcement. While at university she worked for the Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek (German Cinematic Foundation).

Advising Deutsche Telekom AG regarding their European Union trade mark portfolio and acting for them in oppositions and invalidity actions before the EUIPO

Acting for one of Germany's leading fashion retailers in more than 20 parallel opposition and cancellation proceedings against a fashion retailer of the same name

Advising and acting for a well-known energy drink and lifestyle company regarding oppositions before the EUIPO
