As the future of restructuring expands beyond U.S. borders, Hampton Foushee's experience in both New York and London uniquely positions him to help debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders successfully navigate the restructuring landscape in the United States and abroad.
Ever since advising the city of Detroit on its bankruptcy proceedings during law school, Hampton has been drawn to the restructuring world's unique opportunities for creative deal-making that demand both business acumen and legal assertiveness.
Hampton has particular experience advising on complex workouts involving stakeholders that are spread throughout a variety of legal jurisdictions. He has advised creditors' committees on preference claims and avoidance actions, secured lenders and bondholders on restructuring support agreement negotiations, and debtors on cross-border reorganizations.
In addition to his restructuring experience, Hampton has drafted and negotiated covenant packages for European bond offerings and loan documents for secured loan transactions in the United States and Europe.
