Practice groupLitigation, Arbitration, and Employment

An effective litigator masters the art of storytelling and can tell her clients' story better than they could themselves. In product liability litigation, the client story connects science, law, and business. Sydney Fairchild's practice centers on these elements and is driven by a commitment to serving not only her clients' immediate needs, but also furthering their broader strategic goals and objectives.

Sydney's civil practice focuses primarily on product liability litigation, including individual, mass tort, and class actions in federal and state courts across the United States. She is experienced in all stages of litigation including, detailed fact investigation, discovery, motions practice, settlement negotiations, and tactical trial strategy.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Sydney served as an associate in the products liability and mass torts practice group at a full-service law firm, where her practice involved defending health care providers in catastrophic injury cases and various manufacturers in complex product liability cases as national trial counsel. Sydney also has experience representing businesses in complex commercial and civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.

Additionally, she served as a judicial clerk to Magistrate Judge J. Mark Coulson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland from 2014 to 2015. During her clerkship Sydney was immersed in resolving discovery disputes and formulating practical and efficient solutions.
