In 2008, Joanna Fiema-Kurek graduated from the Jagiellonian University. Before joining the Hogan Lovells tax team she worked in Accreo Taxand, a company specializing in providing tax advisory services. Having started working in the tax department of the Hogan Lovells Warsaw Office in August 2010, Joanna's professional experience includes providing comprehensive advice on tax matters, especially those matters relating to VAT, income tax, and the tax on civil law transactions. She is also well-versed in tax optimisations connected to international structures and foreign tax regulations.
Joanna has been involved in many proceedings before the tax authorities and administrative courts, and supports clients in their contacts with the tax authorities, representing them at all stages of proceedings and in disputes in front of administrative courts. Joanna also provides advice in the area of transfer pricing, prepares statutory transfer pricing documentation and defence files, and conducts tax training courses. In addition to the above, she conducts due diligences and assists her clients in tax audits. Joanna has been a qualified legal counsel since 2013.
Krajowy Depozyt Papierów Wartosciowych (the Polish Deposit of Securities) – tax advice related to the statutory security transactions performed by state institution responsible for all transactions regarding financial instruments with respect to the Polish income tax as well as withholding tax issues.
