Telecoms developments in South Sudan - an expert roundtable

25 July 2012

Hogan Lovells hosted the South Sudan Business Counsel's sector expert roundtable on telecom developments in South Sudan.

South Sudan - a country the size of France - relies on a good mobile network and has ambitions to develop this network within a regional setting. Training to create jobs is a priority so apart from providing financial networks there is also scope for distance learning delivered via mobile telephony.

The expert panel reviewed current and existing ambitions to develop telecoms as well as the current political impasse between the South and the North that has severely disrupted oil revenues.
