Emerging changes: Recent developments in arbitration and litigation in the UAE, the DIFC and the ADGM

Monday 11 December 2017
Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The disputes landscape in the UAE is forever shifting. There have been a number of important developments this year in the UAE impacting both arbitration and court proceedings. In order to ensure your business interests and rights are fully protected against future risks, you need to keep apprised of these latest legal developments.

Hogan Lovells team has significant experience conducting litigation, arbitration and alternative forms of dispute resolution across the UAE, covering a wide range of industry sectors, from construction and engineering through to insurance and commercial contracts.

In this seminar, we will talk through the latest developments in both arbitration and litigation in the UAE (both onshore and offshore), including the latest developments and trends emanating from the Judicial Tribunal's decisions determining jurisdiction between the DIFC Courts and the onshore Dubai Courts.

The next major development will be the introduction of the new DIAC Arbitration Rules which will shortly come into effect. We are delighted to announce we will have a special guest speaker for the evening, Mercedes Torres Lagarde, a senior Case Manager at the Dubai International Arbitration Centre ("DIAC") who will be presenting on "The outcome of the new DIAC Arbitration Rules 2018".
