Leading FTSE Chairmen and board members who are committed to appointing talented women to UK boards will be participating in the Forum. These include Sir Win Bischoff, Sir Philip Hampton, Sir Dick Olver, Dennis Holt, Peter Hickson and Mark Nicholls, to mention some.
Launched in 2009 in the UK by founder Elin Hurvenes and Jane Scott, the Professional Boards Forum brings together chairmen and women with the skills and experience for Non-Executive Director (NED) roles.
At the event, a "Simulated Board Meeting" takes place which gives talented women a unique opportunity to show their understanding and judgement of complex strategic, governance, and financial problems, demonstrating the strengths they could bring to a board in the future. The Forum creates a friendly environment where women can meet and impress business leaders who influence appointment to UK boards.
The case study for this "Simulated Board Meeting" has been developed in conjunction with Hogan Lovells and PWC.
Hogan Lovells corporate partner Nicola Evans, together with Julie Stanbrook and Fergus Gallagher helped build the case study and Nicola will be helping to facilitate the boardroom discussions.
