On 1 July, the UK Bribery Act 2010 (the "UK Act") came into force. Like its U.S. counterpart, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (the "FCPA"), the UK Act has extra-territorial scope and affects commercial organisations worldwide.
The Litigation, Arbitration and Employment (LAE) Group of Hogan Lovells in Greater China would like to invite you to learn more about the UK Act, its application, and its similarities to and differences from the FCPA.
We invite you to share some of our experiences dealing with global bribery and corruption matters, including a practical discussion on "adequate procedures" to prevent bribery in your organisation or, should it become necessary, to provide a defence under the UK Act.
Hong Kong Law Society CPD points applied for.
***This seminar was originally scheduled to hold on 29 September but has been re-scheduled to 27 October due to the weather conditions on that day.***
