Brexit Effect - The International Perspective

12 April 20166:30 PM - 10:00 PM (GMT)

Brexit is a hot topic. Lots of people are talking about what it might mean, particularly in the UK. But what do our trading partners think? Every organisation, with UK or broader European interests, will be affected by Brexit. The voice of international businesses is crucial, and is often not being heard over the hubbub. Together with the International Chamber of Commerce and the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe, Hogan Lovells will be convening senior business leaders from across the world. We will be discussing and debating the international perspective on Brexit — aiming to cast some light amidst the heat.

We are pleased to be joined by Sir Michael Rake, Chairman of BT Group plc and the International Chamber of Commerce UK, and Paul Dreschler, President of CBI, who will together open our evening discussion. Susan Bright, Hogan Lovells Regional Managing Partner for UK and Africa, will introduce the panel, which will be chaired by Kirsty Wark, journalist and TV presenter. Kirsty will moderate a lively conversation amongst panellists representing a diverse range of sectors and countries, on what Brexit might mean to them.

Panellists include:

  • Sir Simon Fraser, Former Head of the UK Foreign Office; Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Flint Global
  • Alan Houmann, Head of Government Affairs for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Citi
  • Paul Kahn, UK President at Airbus
  • Thomas Spiller, President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium

The panel will be brought to a close by Howard Rosen, Public Affairs Committee Chairman at COBCOE- the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe.
