Breaking Barriers: Breakfast with Dr. Maryam Matar

Hogan Lovells' diversity initiative, Breaking Barriers, is pleased to host an exclusive breakfast presentation in celebration of International Women's Day on Thursday 6th March 2014.
We are honoured to be joined by celebrated Emirati philanthropist Dr. Maryam Matar, who will lead a short presentation on her inspirational work in the UAE, followed by a Q&A session and networking breakfast.
Dr. Maryam was recently listed among the 20 Most Influential Women in Science in the Islamic world and has been listed in Arabian Business's 100 Most Powerful Arab Women.

Amongst other achievements, Dr. Maryam is extremely well-known in the Middle East for her pioneering research into genetic disorders prevalent in the UAE, with the UAE Genetic Diseases Association, which she founded in 2006.
Alongside her healthcare work, Dr. Maryam holds the role of deputy chairwoman of Dubai Cares. She was also the first Emirati woman to become a director general in the Dubai Government, and the first Emirati woman to be appointed Under Secretary of the Ministry of Health.
