You are invited to the MLex and Hogan Lovells Breakfast on: The European Commission consultation on the powers of National Competition Authorities. Quo vadis?
Since 2004, the national competition authorities have played a vital role in the enforcement and development of EU competition law. But do they have the right tools, are they sufficiently well-resourced to carry on this task independently and effectively, and is EU legislation required?
Against the backdrop of the Commission's consultation on how to improve the toolbox of national competition authorities and amid signs of growing political influence over the national competition authorities in certain countries, we discuss these issues in an informal setting with the DG COMP Head of Unit leading the Commission review, the Director General of the Swedish Competition Authority and the former President of the Polish Competition Authority.
