Erick Emmanuel Clavel Benítez

Erick Clavel offers bold, innovative, and swift solutions. He focuses on both international and domestic commercial arbitration, as well as on civil and commercial litigation. He is also skilled in antitrust and anti-corruption matters. Erick takes ownership of his clients' cases by studying and understanding their businesses and goals.

Erick recently graduated from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM). During law school, he was granted a scholarship for his academic accomplishments and received two more scholarships to study at the University of Paris. Shortly after graduation, he joined Hogan Lovells where he has represented and advised companies in, among many others, insurance, pharmaceutical, agro-business, IT, construction, and infrastructure industries. He recently represented a scientific international NGO and a global conglomerate in complex arbitration matters. Along with other members of key practice areas, he strives to secure victories and to develop strategies to put his clients' minds at ease with accurate and prompt legal advice.

Erick's diverse background strengthens his legal skills. His past experience includes being appointed as Chairman of the 2012 G-20 Youth Summit by the former President of Mexico, a champion in debate competitions, team captain of international and domestic arbitration and criminal moot court competitions, and served as the youngest certified expert witness before the State's Judiciary.

In his quest to become a better lawyer, Erick is heavily involved in academia. He currently teaches arbitration at his alma mater and is head coach of the team competing at the world's most prestigious international arbitration moot court competition on behalf of it. He frequently authors papers and is invited as a speaker in legal forums.
