Emily Zhao represents clients on a wide range of transactional matters, focusing on venture capital transactions and corporate governance. Her clients operate in varied industries, from health care to aerospace and defense, financial services, technology, and education.

As an alumna of a women's college, Emily has a passion for women's issues that is demonstrated through her pro bono work in assisting transgender individuals with name and gender identity marker changes through FreeState Justice and working with clients to seek legal status through KIND and the Tahirih Justice Center.

Prior to beginning her career at Hogan Lovells as a summer associate, Emily served as an articles editor for the Journal of Business Technology Law and interned for Maryland State Senator James N. Mathias, Jr.
