Debbie Rowland is a U.S. attorney (California) and U.S. patent attorney in the IP group of the Tokyo office of Hogan Lovells.
Debbie started her legal career as counsel for Fujitsu Limited's semiconductor business unit from 2008 to 2010, after which she worked in a Japanese patent and law firm from 2010 to 2015, where she advised clients on a wide range of intellectual property issues along with general corporate matters. Debbie has particular experience in the fields of IP agreements, IP litigation, patent infringement and validity studies, and patent and trademark prosecution.
Debbie graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts & Science in Earth Systems and Japanese, and from Brigham Young University with a Juris Doctor. Her technical and legal background, combined with years of experience in Japan and fluent Japanese, makes her well-suited to help both international and Japanese clients navigate the complex legal landscape of cross-jurisdictional IP matters.
