Marie is an associate in Hogan Lovells' International Arbitration group in London, where she focuses on public international law and the settlement of international legal disputes. Marie has experience representing both states and investors in proceedings under UNCITRAL, ICSID and SCC rules, as well as advising on claims under the Energy Charter Treaty.

Marie is also a member of the team acting for a European based multinational energy company in defending executives against a state government investigation relating to allegations of complicit liability for war crimes allegedly committed by an African state military.

Marie is a core member of Hogan Lovells' Business and Human Rights practice. As part of the Business and Human Rights team, she won the Award for International Legal Services at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2018. She also has a strong commitment to pro bono and regularly works on matters involving international criminal law and human rights.  She is a volunteer reviewing lawyer for the Eyewitness to Atrocities project, which received the 2018 International Bar Association (IBA) award for "Outstanding Pro Bono Contribution".

An internationally-minded lawyer born and raised in Brussels, Marie speaks English, French and Portuguese. She is familiar with both civil law and common law, and is always keen on expanding her legal and cultural horizons.
