David J. Robbins
David Robbins collaborates with teams of lawyers across multiple Hogan Lovells offices to drive strategic and practical solutions for clients. An associate in our San Francisco office, David embraces his role as a legal advocate. Typically, his clients face lawsuits alleging defects in widely sold products or high-stakes class actions, and they turn to David and his colleagues for sharp legal advocacy and smart solutions based on an understanding of practical business goals.
David is familiar with a variety of areas of substantive law, from tort and consumer protection claims to constitutional and jurisdictional issues, and knows that his ability to grasp the complexities and nuances of the law is critical to developing winning arguments. The experience David gained in public relations and social media marketing before he entered law school helps steer his creative and persuasive approach as a lawyer today.
David has assisted in securing client dismissals from two federal drug product liability lawsuits; dismissals of a global medical device manufacturer from multiple federal product liability lawsuits; dismissal of constitutional and jurisdictional challenges in state court to the policies of a major state service provider; affirmance in a federal court of appeals of a dismissal based on forum non conveniens; and dismissal of a federal putative class action brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
While in law school, David's passion for advocacy led him to the final round of the University of Pennsylvania Law School's annual moot court competition. As one of four finalists out of more than 70 participants, he argued before judges from the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 4th and 6th Circuits and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
