Aik Hui Chua is experienced in a wide variety of asset finance and leasing transactions.

She has advised banks, lessors, and owners on a range of matters including predelivery financing, sale and purchase, sale and leaseback, and refinancing involving a wide range of asset classes. These assets include vessels, aircraft, maritime containers, and offshore oil and gas assets.

Aik Hui has experience in collaborating with correspondent counsel across multiple jurisdictions, including Australia, the British Virgin Islands, China, Hong Kong, the Isle of Man, Japan, Korea, Liberia, Macau, the Marshall Islands, Malta, Panama, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore.

Prior to joining private practice, Aik Hui worked in a government agency where she was instrumental in the drafting of several primary, as well as subsidiary, legislation.

Advised International Finance Corp. as sole investor in the US$150m green bond issued by a Philippine-based commercial lender, China Banking Corp.

Advised lenders in arranging a refinancing of a US$115m revolving facility to a multinational liquefied petroleum gas company.

Advised a Taiwanese bank in relation to a loan facility to partially finance the acquisition of one B737 aircraft by an aircraft leasing company on lease to an Indonesian airline.

Advised a German multinational investment bank in relation to a multi-jurisdictional financing of two Airbus A220 aircraft.

Advised the Singapore branch of a major Chinese bank on a loan facility to refinance the acquisition of one Boeing B747 on lease to a Korean airline.

Advised a multinational shipowner and operator headquartered in Hong Kong in the financing of a floating dock for usage in Thailand under a long-term leasing arrangement.*

Advised a People's Republic of China leasing company on the sale and leaseback of multiple tankers and carriers involving a leading commodity trading and logistics house.*

Advised a Singapore branch of a German transportation bank as lenders in a US$17m facility to a People's Republic of China state-owned shipowner.*

Advised a German transportation bank in the sale and release of a vessel from an existing loan transaction and the purchase by an operator of carriers headquartered in Singapore.*
