Jérémie Charles is a senior associate within our Internal Trade and Investment Group. He routinely advises clients on various aspects of EU and international trade law, including trade defence investigations (i.e. anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and safeguard), customs procedures, WTO law, free trade agreement negotiations, economic sanctions, and export controls (applicable to both dual-use goods/technologies and defence-related products).

He also assists clients with assessing whether their operations fall within the scope of EU and member state foreign investment screening rules and with obtaining the necessary authorizations (where required). He has considerable experience litigating trade restrictive measures in proceedings before the EU courts and the WTO Dispute Settlement Body.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Jérémie worked as a legal attaché at the French Mission to the WTO and as an international trade lawyer in other international law firms (in Brussels and Washington, D.C.).
