Carmen Fernández de Solís is an Associate in the Insurance and Reinsurance team in Madrid.

She is focused on regulatory matters and provides day-to-day assistance in the Spanish insurance and reinsurance regulation issues, offering support on complex, challenging matters such as EU-wide co-insurance agreements, structured products, outsourcing of critical functions, and unit-linked plans. She has represented clients before the Spanish financial regulatory authority (DGSFP) in transactions where approval from or notification to the relevant regulator is needed. She has also been involved in drafting policy wordings, interpretation of insurance contracts and coverage under insurance contracts. Carmen also has experience in litigation related to insurance: professional liability claims, industrial risks, construction damages and resolution of coverage disputes.

In addition, she is a member of the Hogan Lovells International Product Liability Team, and she is focused on pharmaceutical and sanitary products. Her work also covers actions related to products' safety and recall, out of court settlement management and assessment of personal damages, as well as representing manufacturers / distributors on different jurisdictions in cases of alleged damages caused by products.
