G2 LNG Initiates Pre-Filing Process with FERC
According to G2 LNG’s Request to Initiate Pre-Filing Process, the Calcasieu facilities will include “two (2) LNG trains each with an average base LNG production capacity of approximately 6.7 MTPA (7 MTPA peak); Pre-treatment facilities; three (3) LNG storage tanks (180,000 cubic meters each) and tank protection systems; two marine loading berths capable of receiving up to 250,000 cubic meter LNGCs [LNG carriers]; a storm surge protection system (levees); on-site electric power generation facilities; and two 42-inch natural gas pipeline laterals (totaling approximately 42 miles) and associated compression to deliver feed gas to the terminal from the nearby interstate and intrastate pipeline grid in Louisiana.”
G2 LNG will work with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to secure all required licenses and permits related to its Calcasieu export facility, and intends to begin construction in the 4th quarter of 2017; LNG deliveries will commence in 2020.
