Andrés F. Chaves

Andrés Chaves assists clients in Latin America with energy and infrastructure transactions, including acquisition and project finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and cross-border commercial transactions.

Prior to practicing law, Andrés worked for several years with a leading global paper and packaging manufacturer in various finance, marketing, and international sales roles. Andrés relies on that experience in his law practice, as clients and colleagues seek him out for his ability to quickly grasp commercial and financial issues and identify risks.

Raised in both Colombia and the United States, Andrés is bicultural and bilingual, enabling him to counsel clients, conduct negotiations, draft documents, and handle day-to-day interactions seamlessly in English and Spanish.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Andrés worked in the Washington, D.C. office of another leading international firm, where he worked on energy and infrastructure matters in developing markets.

Andrés is also a graduate of West Point, where he was one of only 10 foreign cadets worldwide admitted with his class.
