As an associate in our International Arbitration group, Ana Carolina Simões e Silva focuses her practice on commercial and investment arbitration. Whether she is representing the commercial interests of multinational companies or protecting the interests of sovereign States, Ana Carolina helps her clients to resolve even their most complex disputes.Ana Carolina's experience includes arbitration proceedings under the rules of the ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL.
Over the last few years she has gained particular experience in cases linked to the energy, mining and construction sectors. Her background as a dual qualified French-Brazilian lawyer have also led her to work on a number of cross-office matters, forming a key link in the firm's global network.Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Ana Carolina was an associate at another leading international law firm in Paris. She also served as a lecturer at the Université Lille 2 Droit et Santé and the Law Faculty of the Institut d'Études Politiques de Lille (Sciences Po Lille), teaching International Relations and Public International Law.

Currently representing a Latin America-based international oil conglomerate in two ICC arbitrations.

Represented a Latin American State in ICSID treaty arbitrations and annulment proceedings with major foreign oil companies.
Represented a Latin American State in four investment arbitrations in several sectors, such as power generation, mining, airport concession and oil.
Represented a North American company against an European State before the European Court of Human Rights.
Represented a Russian company and one of its subsidiaries in a SCC arbitration brought by an Italian company regarding the suspension of works and non-payment of goods.
Represented an Argentinean group of investors in an ICSID dispute against a South American State related to the termination of a concession contract.
