Ali advises companies developing new medical technologies on coding and Medicare and commercial coverage and payment strategies. He also works with clients on Medicare and Medicaid pricing methods, as well as broader healthcare transactional and compliance matters.
Ali has over a decade of professional and academic experience in the healthcare sector. He joined Hogan Lovells in 2015 from a healthcare super-boutique law firm in Washington, D.C. He earned his JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he was the recipient of a law-medicine scholarship and was an Executive Note Editor of Health Matrix Journal of Law-Medicine. During law school, Ali externed as a law clerk in the legal department at University Hospitals Health System working on compliance, regulatory, employment, and transactional matters.
After receiving his Master of Public Health degree from Brown University, Ali began his healthcare career as a reimbursement and product commercialization consultant for business strategy and government affairs firms in Washington, D.C.. At the University of Toronto, Ali double-majored in human biology and biomedical ethics.
