Alexander Stefan Rieger is recognized for guiding clients through complex M&A transactions and project developments in the infra and energy sector. He has managed numerous high profile acquisitions and disposals of infra and energy assets, portfolios and businesses as well as project developments, including conventional power, renewables, waste, water, industrial parks, motorways, data centers and airports. Stefan's clients include infra funds, private equity investors, pension funds, insurances, developers and corporates from around the globe.

By utilizing his background as a projects lawyer, he adds value rarely available in the market at the interface between classical M&A and infra/energy work. Stefan's advice focuses on transaction and project structuring, contracts drafting/negotiating (SPA, SHA, JV, EPC, O&M, PPP) as well as on related commercial and strategic issues.

What Stefan does best: understanding complex infra and energy related business issues and translating them into legal documents or commercial solutions. In advising his clients, he emphasizes practicality, striving to achieve the client's business objectives. In 2010, Stefan was seconded to the firm's infra team based in Singapore. He shares his know-how with others, being a guest lecturer at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and regularly publishes articles on infra and energy related legal issues.
