Lamis Adam focuses on transactional work, including local and cross-border finance transactions with a focus on emerging markets, and advises both borrowers and lenders in a variety of sectors from mining, energy and natural resources to logistics and infrastructure.

Her experience includes advising on structured trade financings, borrowing base facilities and a variety of corporate and commercial transactions such as sales of business, share sales and subscription transactions. She also has experience advising on real estate finance and project finance matters

Advising Old Mutual (South Africa) on an IT outsourcing transaction relating to a transactional bank account linked to an investment account.


Acting for a South African internet services provider on a due diligence in relation to the acquisition of three business divisions of another South African internet services provider.

Advising a syndicate of lenders on a pan-African secured commodities financing across Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa, Singapore, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Advising a multinational computer technology company on South African regulatory queries.

Advising the African Development Bank in relation to two credit guarantees granted to African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP).

Advising the African Development Bank, Credit Suisse AG and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited on a US$600 million syndicated loan to Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

Advising Nedbank Limited on a ZAR1,85 billion deal with Puma Energy, which was named as Local Currency Loan Deal of the Year for the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Africa conference in March 2020.

Advising a London-based investment manager in relation to the provision of a stock finance facility to a processor of maize in Zambia.
