"Edward Dolan, first ranked in Chambers USA 2005, has a well-established reputation as a bankruptcy expert, and is particularly well known for his work with creditors, lenders and equity holders."

Edward C. Dolan focuses on complex commercial financing, bankruptcy, business restructuring, and creditors' rights. Clients look to Ed when an enterprise is distressed and strategic objectives are jeopardized.

His experience in examining the problem, the market context, the available finances, and the principal parties involved enables him to find solutions where others may have seen only conflict. Theoretical solutions mean little if not measured against what is achievable in each situation.

Ed regularly represents – both nationally and internationally – creditors, investors, and intellectual property licensors and licensees, as well as businesses and real estate developers, in restructurings, distressed mergers and acquisitions, and asset-transfer liquidations and transactions. He has written and spoken extensively in the areas of financing, bankruptcy, creditors' rights, and commercial loan workouts, as well as environmental liability, enforcement of intellectual property rights in bankruptcy, foreclosure and other collateral liquidation, and lender liability.

Ed is a former member of the board of governors of the Federal Bar Association's Maryland Chapter, and a former president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland. He is recognized in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in Industry and Finance, and Who's Who in America. He is also singled out by Who's Who in the World, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business Bankruptcy, and the Washington Business Journal.
