Gender Differences in Dispute Resolution

Science, Experience and Practical Approaches

Hogan Lovells and ArbitralWomen, with support from the German Institute of Arbitration (DIS), invite you to attend an afternoon event on "Gender Differences in Dispute Resolution: Science, Experience and Practical Approaches".

The aim of the event is to approach the question of gender differences in dispute resolution from different angles (science and practice). In the first part, the academic researchers Ms. Ulrike Schultz of Fern University Hagen, Germany, and Dr. Katharina Kugler of Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Germany, will present their research on gender differences in decision making and negotiations.

This will be followed by a panel discussion, where dispute resolution practitioners (judge, arbitrator, counsel, in-house counsel) will reflect on the academic research and share their experience and views on gender differences in dispute resolution. The panel will also discuss the practical implications of the academic research and their experience for questions like arbitrator selection and cross-examinations.

The main event will be preceded by a SpeedNet event open exclusively to female practitioners.

We will also host a drinks reception after the main event, providing networking opportunities.

The participation in the event is free of charge. For more information about the program click here.
