Practice groupLitigation

For nearly a decade, Daniela Levarda's practice focused on helping clients with residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) litigation, including repurchase loan contracts, class actions, and numerous issues arising out of mortgage and foreclosure disputes. As a supervising lender liability attorney, Daniela has considerable experience in commercial litigation, and represents major investment banks and brokerage houses in various aspects of securities and other litigation matters.

Previously Daniela worked as an in-house litigation consultant at Morgan Stanley, where she managed repurchase lawsuits concerning both RMBS and CMBS, advised on servicing issues, handled arbitrations and settlement negotiations, and managed every aspect of commercial and residential litigation involving securitized assets. Before that, she was a senior litigation associate in private practice with two internationally recognized firms and advised commercial clients on bankruptcy, insurance, and securities litigation matters.

Daniela has also handled arbitration and litigation matters related to a clearing broker's liability claims. She successfully defended claims of aiding and abetting sub-prime lenders brought against major investment banks; litigated ownership rights and real estate disputes concerning landmark property in New York City; represented corporate creditors, committees, and insolvent entities in complex Chapter 11 reorganizations; and participated in patent litigation in the federal circuit.
