An experienced counsel in our Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects Group, Craig focuses his practice at Hogan Lovells in helping government and private sector clients working on major PPP, construction, infrastructure and oil and gas projects. Craig's experience is particularly unique and varied as he has worked in a variety of private practice, secondment and in-house roles throughout his career to date and, whilst he started out practicing law in Australia, Craig has, since joining Hogan Lovells in 2011, lived and worked in Beijing, London, Singapore, Tokyo and, most recently, in Dubai.

Craig’s particular areas of focus are in the power, mining, renewable energy, oil and gas, water, transport and healthcare sectors. Within these specific sectors, Craig’s has assisted clients in negotiating and drafting complex project documentation, which is required for a variety of PPP, construction, infrastructure and upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas projects, as well as providing on-going advice and assistance.

Representative experience

Advising Sport Singapore in relation to completion of construction, and transition from construction to operations in connection with Singapore Sports Hub PPP project in Singapore.

Advising Sarawak Energy Berhad in construction of 192MW Kidurong combined cycle power plant, 600MW Balingian coal fired power plant, and 500kV transmission line in Malaysia.

Advising the Mongolian Ministry of Energy in relation to the construction and financing of the 315MW Egiin Golin hydroelectric power plant in Mongolia.

Advising JKC Australia Pty Ltd on construction of US$34bn Ichthys onshore LNG project in Australia, Project Finance Asia-Pacific Multisourced Global Deal of the Year.

Advising JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation on acquisition of participating interest in deep water oil field in Foz de Amazonas Basin in Brazil.

Advising Siemens on the operation, procurement, and long term maintenance of major items of medical equipment at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Western Australia.

Advising Linking Melbourne Authority in relation to Peninsula Link PPP project in Victoria, the first availability style PPP road project to be delivered in Australia.

Advising JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation on construction and financing (including JBIC financing) of carbon capture and enhanced oil recovery system in Texas.

Advising Oyu Tolgoi LLC on construction/development of underground mine in Mongolia, one of the largest gold and copper mines globally, accounting for one-third Mongolia’s GDP.
