Practice groupLitigation

Clients look to Courtney Colligan for guidance in areas of commercial and corporate litigation, and alternate dispute resolution. She frequently handles banking and financial matters, commercial disputes, consumer class actions, products liability, and securities litigation.

Courtney has successfully defended banks and loan servicers in state and federal litigation, at the trial and appellate levels, against claims of lending fraud, predatory lending, violations of federal and state statutes — including the FDCPA, TILA, RESPA, and HOEPA — and in matters concerning government and regulatory investigations.

She frequently appears in federal and state trial and appellate courts. She also regularly works with non-U.S. companies involved in U.S. litigation — litigating questions of personal jurisdiction, conflict of law, forum non conveniens, and other legal issues impacting foreign businesses.

Courtney also represents clients in the energy, telecommunications, medical devices/pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and building materials industries.

Through the firm's pro bono group, Courtney satisfies her desire to help those in need, counseling clients in relation to immigration matters, services for the homeless, and assistance for people with developmental disabilities. She was a recipient of the 2015 Safe Haven Award from Immigration Equality for excellence in pro bono representation.

Courtney is currently on secondment with a firm client.
