Sean Collins advises clients on U.S. and international business transactions, with a focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and complex multi-jurisdictional projects such as global carveouts.  

Sean has advised strategic companies, financial sponsors, and other investors in industries as diverse as aerospace and defense; automotive; industrial manufacturing; life sciences and health care; and technology, media, and telecoms. Sean has experience working with local counsel to solve complex legal issues in over 50 jurisdictions and legal regimes, including in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, England & Wales, France, India, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, and Switzerland, to name a few.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Sean attended the University of Chicago Law School as a Rubenstein Scholar, graduating with honors. While in law school, Sean was a member of the University of Chicago's Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship where he provided legal assistance to low-income entrepreneurs in Chicago. Before law school, he earned a B.A. in Government & Politics and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Maryland.

Cloudflare, Inc., a leading web infrastructure and cybersecurity company, on its US$162m acquisition of Area 1 Security, Inc., a developer of industry-leading phishing and network security products.

Dell Technologies Inc. on the sale of its information technology services business to NTT DATA for US$3.055bn.

Ingredion on its public takeover of PureCircle, a London premium-listed producer of stevia sweeteners.

Daimler on a mobility joint venture with BMW.

Lockheed Martin Corporation on the combination of its IT and technical services businesses with Leidos in a US$5.0bn Reverse Morris Trust transaction.

TRATON SE, a subsidiary of Volkswagen and global manufacturer of commercial vehicles, on its strategic equity investment in TuSimple, a leading developer of autonomous trucks and related technology.

Daimler AG on its investment in Via Transportation, Inc.
