As reported in our Medical Device Alert dated 19 January 2012, a new California law now prohibits physician-owned distributors (PODs) from supplying medical devices for workers’ compensation patients. This Health Alert is aimed at providing physicians, hospitals, and medical device manufacturers with the facts needed to counter misinformation being spread by certain California POD promoters that the law does not mean what it says.
