In Silicon Valley, we deliver superior local and industry-specific knowledge with the reach and resources of a top-ten global legal practice. Our lawyers have practiced in Silicon Valley for decades, and understand the unique challenges and opportunities of the region, and we, as a result, deliver exceptional, efficient, and cost-effective service to our clients. While our clients include many of the best known companies in Silicon Valley, we also represent many Fortune 500 companies, in addition to a strong mix of foreign-based companies. We also maintain a strong focus on the many emerging growth companies, and venture capital and private equity firms. We deliver our services to companies in a diverse range of industries, including all forms of technology (including life sciences), healthcare, energy (including clean tech), automotive, food, real estate, insurance, banking and other financial services, professional liability, and bankruptcy.

As a Chambers USA-ranked commercial litigation practice, we represent our clients in jurisdictions around the globe on critical litigation matters. We provide sophisticated litigation leadership on consumer class actions, internal investigations, securities class actions, and corporate governance litigation. This team provides unmatched experience in securities law, including the representation of corporations, officers, outside directors, banks, and accountants in class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and complex coordinated investor lawsuits in both state and federal courts, as well as in government regulatory proceedings. Our highly-talented consumer class actions team regularly represents clients in news-worthy matters relating to false labeling, unfair competition, and false advertising claims, among other related issues. We remain at the forefront on these issues, and have a strong track record of delivering successes for our clients.

Our corporate team has broad experience representing technology companies, life sciences companies, private equity/venture capital firms, emerging companies, and renewable energy and clean technology companies in a range of corporate and securities matters. We also bring to the table substantial experience representing investment and commercial banks in capital markets transactions and securities litigation. Our lawyers have represented issuers and investment banks in more than 50 public offerings in the last 10 years alone. With unique proficiency in biotechnology, members of our team have been recognized among the Top 25 Biotech Lawyers in California (Daily Journal, 2011), and among the top 10 lawyers in the nation representing investment banks in biotechnology IPOs (IPO Vital Signs). Our corporate lawyers are also ranked in Legal 500 for Venture Capital and Emerging Companies in 2012 and Mergers, Acquisitions, and Buyouts in 2011. We also advise companies on corporate partnering issues, strategic alliances, and technology licensing.

Representing many of the world’s leading technology companies, our intellectual property practice focuses on IP litigation in federal courts, state courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and arbitration proceedings, with an emphasis on patent and trademark litigation for West Coast and Asia-based technology clients. Our intellectual property team has deep experience in electrical engineering and computer science-related fields, and in other areas, including Internet search, high-temperature superconductivity, mobile telecommunications, digital video and audio, and biotechnology. Collectively, the team has handled cases in federal and state courts throughout California; federal courts in Delaware, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C.; and in the ITC.
