Robert "Bob" B. Duncan

Bob Duncan's practice focuses on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation in federal and state courts. Bob also advises corporations and individuals, particularly in Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland, on a wide range of legal matters. He currently serves as Chair of the firm's recruitment committee and as the litigation practice area administrator.

Bob has handled commercial litigation and arbitration involving a diverse array of issues, including trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes; real estate, brokerage, and construction controversies; franchisee/franchiser disagreements; insurance claims and defense; labor and employment conflicts; and landlord and tenant disputes. Working closely with the firm’s intellectual property group, his current practice focuses heavily on trademark and technology related issues. 

Bob has also handled a broad range of civil rights and public interest litigation and projects through the firm’s community services department, including a well-publicized public accommodations class action and several housing discrimination lawsuits. He regularly advises and represents both claimants and defendants in connection with negotiations, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and general business concerns.

Prior to attending law school, Bob taught emotionally disturbed inner-city teenagers in Philadelphia and directed a residential program for mentally disabled adults in Northern Virginia.
