You're Hired! Hogan Lovells pits the Brightest and Best in Charity Challenge
Law firm Hogan Lovells will be taking to the streets of London on 18 June in an event inspired by the TV show, The Apprentice.
The Bright Ideas Challenge, in collaboration with the Bright Ideas Trust, will see five in-house teams vie for top spot in a variety of challenges designed to test initiative, entrepreneurial and team skills. Funds raised from the event will go to The Bright Ideas Trust and ORBIS, a non profit, global development organisation whose mission is to eliminate avoidable blindness in developing countries.
On 18 June the Hogan Lovells teams will gather at Whitecross Street community market to take part in a market challenge, to make as much money as possible selling various handmade goods. The winning team will be announced at a results show on the 21 June, where the teams will be given the opportunity to pitch to a panel of expert judges.
Hogan Lovells has been working closely with the South Islington council to support the local community of St Lukes and has lent its support to community market stalls in WhiteCross Street which have been established to stimulate entrepreneurship in the area. The teams will also have other tasks to complete including a 'random act of kindness' and finding a prize to be auctioned at the Results Show. Each team will be provided with an adviser to guide them throughout the day.
The Bright Ideas Trust supports young entrepreneurs developing their own business, and funds raised by the event will go to the Trust and Touch charities which the firm has supported in the past.
Hogan Lovells Counsel Suzanne Rab, said: "The event is partly aimed at bringing legacy Hogan & Hartson and Lovells colleagues together. There is also a clear community aspect to the Challenge which builds on the pro bono heritages of both firms. While the teams themselves will be tasked with specific challenges that have commercial, pro bono and team building elements, there is also a role for people back at the office to take part as internal advisers on the telephone or at their desks."
Prize donors include Mercedes-Benz, Jo Hansford, Manolo Blahnik, Limelight Access Platinum, Bleeding Heart Restaurant, Venture, and Corney & Barrow.
