Nathan Searle is a partner in our international arbitration group, acting for large multinationals in complex and high-value international arbitrations and cross-border disputes. He has extensive experience advising clients on African related disputes and risk management including in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Cameroon, Angola, DRC and South Africa. He coordinates the firm's disputes practice in the Africa region. He has experience acting for state-owned entities.
Nathan is appointed to the LCIA African Users Council as councillor and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Association of Young Arbitrators in Africa (AYA).
Nathan has higher rights of audience in the English courts and regularly appears as an advocate in international arbitrations. He also sits as arbitrator.

Acting for a West African Central Bank in a high value LCIA arbitration against a West African communications company in relation to a technology project.
Acting for a West African company in an LCIA Arbitration against a South African multi-national arising from a telecommunications joint venture in West Africa.
Acting for an international energy company in an LCIA arbitration relating to provision of technical services for a hydro-power project in West Africa.
Acting for two international banks in three arbitrations (one LCIA and two ICC) arising from secured commodities transaction in East Africa.
Acting for a global beverage company in four arbitrations (under the ICC and LCIA Rules) and injunction proceedings, regarding joint venture disputes in East Africa.
Acting for an Asian multinational in a complex and high-value ICC arbitration seated in London against a European multinational concerning a joint venture dispute.
Acting for an international bank in 16 parallel LCIA arbitrations and related injunction proceedings regarding an ISDA swap transaction, a series of loans and guarantees.
Acting for a South East Asian State in an LCIA Arbitration against a European multinational regarding a multi-million dollar dispute arising from a services contract.
Acting for an investor in an LCIA arbitration regarding a shareholders' dispute concerning an Eastern European technology business including proceedings in Cyprus.
Acting for an international telecommunications company against another global telecommunications company in an ICC arbitration seated in London.
