Jean-Marc is a partner in Hogan Lovells Paris office and a member of our Litigation, Arbitration and Employment (LAE) practice. He became a lawyer in 1995. He specialises in Employment and Social Security Law and his practice has led him to work mainly on Employment Law aspects of the restructuring operations of national and international groups as well as on high executive remuneration packages and contracts. He has experience in the labour aspects of mergers and acquisitions and settlement agreements.

Jean-Marc has extensive experience in resolving social unrest by amicable resolution and represents major French and international subsidiaries following trade union or employee representative disputes.

He regularly advises on various cross-border issues including the harmonisation of employees' status and negotiation of employment contracts.

He is a lecturer of Labour law at Paris II Pantheon-Assas University and author of numerous articles in general publications including Les Echos and Lamy Social. He is co-author of the book Lamy Social group "Lamy Groupe des Sociétés".

Jean-Marc is an active member and expert of Cercle Magellan, a network of professionals in international human resources, compensation and benefits, and international mobility.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
  • Assisting a listed French client on contentious and non contentious employment issues deriving from an acquisition including information and consultation of the Works Council. This process included the harmonisation of employees' status and a redundancy plan concerning 320 employees
  • Assisting a US listed company in the implementation of several phases of its reorganisation in France
  • Advising a US international bank on a reorganisation and settlement negotiations following various individual terminations
  • Advising a Japanese company on the acquisition of a company and assistance on the departure of its corporate officers
  • Advising one of the top worldwide energy companies in its due diligence process prior to the merger with 6 companies
  • Assisting a French listed company in the review of their remuneration policy, pension liabilities and retention schemes
