JUVE awards 2017: Hogan Lovells scoops Law Firm of the Year for IP, Patents and Frankfurt and Hessen region

Hogan Lovells Germany has received three prestigious awards at the esteemed 2017 JUVE awards ceremony. The international law firm was awarded for "Law Firm of the Year for IP", "Law Firm of the Year for Patents" and "Law Firm of the Year for the region of Frankfurt and Hessen ".

The annual JUVE awards are the most prestigious in the German legal industry, with firms being recognized for successful approaches within the sector. Hogan Lovells Germany also received a nomination for "Law Firm of the Year Banking and Finance" for its work in equity capital markets and structured finance.

For the second consecutive year, the Hogan Lovells German offices recorded double-digit growth rates. The firm advised numerous stock-listed companies, international groups and start-up companies, demonstrating its industry sector knowledge, and highlighting its particular specialty within regulated industries. Its clients include Commerzbank, Nord/LB, Bankhaus Lampe, Berenberg, EnBW, Statoil, the Federal Defence Ministry, and Flixbus among others.

The JUVE jury highlighted the firms dominance in the intellectual property (IP) sector, saying about the firm's IP practice: "Attention, competitors! Another successful year like this and the IP-practice will have fully left behind its competitors."

Hogan Lovells' IPMT (intellectual property, media and telecommunications) practice advises clients from the automotive and consumer industry, medical engineering, pharmaceutical and telecommunications sectors. It is the "go-to" law firm, particularly for pharmaceutical and biotechnology innovators. The practice has also represented its clients before court, having recently obtained positive decisions before the Federal Patent Court and the German Supreme Court. Over the last three years, the practice has promoted two partners and three counsel internally demonstrating a commitment to organic growth and talent development.

The firms banking and finance practice continues to excel within its market, with the JUVE jury saying, "The capital markets practice is at its height."

Hogan Lovells capital markets practice advises numerous global companies and investment banks, with a strong focus on international transactions. It has comprehensive industry sector knowledge, particularly in automotive, energy, financial institutions, real estate, retail/consumer and insurance. It counts among its clients Bankhaus Lampe, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Berenberg, Commerzbank, Mercedes-Benz Bank, Nord/LB, Shop Apotheke, UBS, and others.
