Hogan Lovells Receives Legal Diversity Award From Dell

WASHINGTON, 19 December 2016 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Dell’s Legal Department recently honored the firm with the “2016 Dell Legal Diversity Award.” This is the second time in the award’s five-year history that the firm has received this honor. Dell presented Hogan Lovells with the award in Austin, Texas before its U.S. legal team.

Dell selected Hogan Lovells for its contribution to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Among other factors, Dell considered how its law firms utilize female and diverse attorneys when staffing Dell matters. The Dell Legal Diversity Committee was also impressed with the strides Hogan Lovells made towards achieving its internal targets. In 2012, for example, Hogan Lovells set diversity goals to have at least 25 percent of its global partnership be composed of women by 2017 and at least 30 percent of the firm’s management be composed of women partners by 2015. The firm has made impressive gains in attaining these goals. Of the firm’s management roles, at least 33 percent were held by women as early as 2013, while women currently account for 23 percent of all partners globally and just under 25 percent of U.S. partners.

Dell’s Legal Diversity Committee announced the creation of this law firm award in 2012 to recognize law firms that, like Dell, make tangible strides in advancing diversity and inclusion. Hogan Lovells first won the award in 2013 and has since been named a finalist every year.
