WASHINGTON, 7 February 2017 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that partners Steven Barley, John Booher, Zenas Choi, Robert Hawk, Mitch Lazris, Michael Silver, and Cullen Taylor were listed as “All-Stars” in the 2017 BTI Client Services All-Star report. John Booher and Michael Silver were named “MVPs” for having been named to this list for two years in a row.
The report surveys general counsel from large and Fortune 1000 companies to identify the lawyers who display extraordinary client service, including exceptional understanding of the client's business, superior value, exceptional legal skills, and outstanding results. Barley is the Office Managing Partner of our Baltimore office, heads the office Litigation Group, and serves as co-head of our Global Life Sciences Litigation Group. He handles complex commercial and securities litigation matters, including breach of contract and all types of business torts. He handles class actions and consolidated proceedings, and is frequently consulted to help clients assess and reduce risk in advance of litigation.
Booher focuses his practice on the areas of U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, and general corporate and securities law counseling. Booher has extensive experience representing clients in several industries, including life sciences, healthcare, aerospace, government services, and technology. BTI previously named Booher a “Client Services All-Star” in 2016.
Choi advises providers and consumers of with complex legal issues facing cutting-edge technology. He works with clients on a variety of licensing, outsourcing, technology development, collaboration, joint venture, supply/distribution, procurement, hosting, IP peering, interconnection, and other technology and commercial transactions.
Hawk helps industry-leading clients in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and high-tech industries handle class actions and a wide range of commercial disputes. He has extensive experience in consumer and antitrust class actions, handling claims for false advertising, fraud, violation of consumer protection statutes, privacy-related torts, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of warranty, trade secrets, breach of contract/license, and corporate governance disputes.
Lazris represents pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, academic health centers, physician practices, and insurers in a wide variety of government investigations, both civil and criminal, involving issues arising under federal and state laws.
Silver, a former member of the Hogan Lovells Global Board, advises clients on a wide variety of corporate and securities matters, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, private equity and venture capital investing and corporate restructuring. His experience involves technology, manufacturing, insurance, health care, biotechnology, and consumer businesses. BTI previously named Silver a “Client Services All-Star” in 2002 and 2016.
Taylor helps companies in a wide range of industries structure and negotiate their most complex commercial transactions, particularly those involving the development, acquisition, and commercialization of intellectual property and technology.
