Bright Like a Diamond: Prism, Hogan Lovells' Innovative Disputes Service, Shines at British Legal Awards

Hogan Lovells scooped the award for Legal Services Innovation at the British Legal Awards 2016.

The prestigious award from Legal Week magazine recognized Prism, Hogan Lovells' innovative digital early case assessment service for disputes; the first of its kind.

Prism was invented and developed by Hogan Lovells to help examine the multiple facets of a case from the start. The software assists lawyers in swiftly providing clients with a thorough and holistic assessment of a case and its possible outcomes, enabling them to make early and fully-informed decisions on potential disputes.

John Gerszt, partner in Hogan Lovells' construction and engineering team, developers of Prism, says:

"This award is welcome recognition from the market that our innovation is delivering valuable solutions to clients.

"It is clear to us that our in-house counsel clients are coming under increasing pressure to minimize litigation spend and improve results, so we wanted to take early case assessment to the next level. Our Prism software supports our lawyers in delivering a quick and full assessment of all facets of a dispute, taking best and worst possible scenarios into account.

Mark Crossley, construction and engineering professional support lawyer says:

"Our clients tell us that this has been very helpful in enabling early and informed decisions on potential disputes, leading to quick and cost-effective resolutions."

In thirty days and for a fixed priced, Hogan Lovells' Prism delivers a full examination of the key facts, an analysis of the law, a digital document library, best, worst and most likely case scenarios, and an outline of dispute avoidance strategies.

At the ceremony in London's Finsbury Square last night (24 November), the firm was also Highly Commended in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution, and Restructuring categories.
