After many compromises, revisions and obstacles, the new Unitary Patent and Unitary Patent Court system in Europe will likely start at the end of 2017 or early 2018. In that context, we have started a 6-part series (monthly from April 2017, excluding August 2017) to discuss practical and strategic considerations associated with the new system, and to share our current views on how it will affect the business of Japanese life sciences and technology companies.
