Patrick de Lapérouse advises clients on international trade and investment matters, including trade remedies, export controls, and customs regulations.
Patrick represents a range of clients before government agencies in complex trade litigation, including before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and assists clients with navigating U.S. regulatory regimes before the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Treasury, and the U.S. Department of State.
During law school, Patrick gained valuable experience working as an intern in the Department of Commerce's Office of Chief Counsel for International Commerce, the Administrative Conference of the United States, and in the Enforcement Division of the Commodity Futures Trade Commission. He was also a member of the American University Law Review and participated in the European Law Students Association World Trade Organization Moot Competition.
Before law school, Patrick managed international public affairs campaigns, where he assisted clients with navigating complex regulatory, policy, and strategic concerns in foreign markets. Patrick also interned for U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill and with the Trade Office of the European Commission's Delegation to Washington, D.C.
