Building a safe haven

Pro Bono

When communities come together to provide needed services, the results can be transformational. We helped launch the Rose Andom Center in Denver, providing access to multiple services for domestic violence victims.

The Center provides a centralized location of community resources, including legal support, law enforcement services, counseling, crisis intervention, job search assistance, and more.

Regional Managing Partner Cole Finegan helped conceive the idea of a place such as the Rose Andom Center back when he served as Denver City Attorney. When he arrived at Hogan Lovells, he continued his work and enlisted the help of several other lawyers in the office.

Former Hogan Lovells lawyer Chantal Taylor, Senior Associate Sierra Russell, and others worked with Cole over the past decade to bring the Rose Andom Center to life. Not only did the firm contribute more than US$150,000 in pro bono legal services, we also gave much of our office furniture to the Center when we moved offices in September 2016. And Cole worked with Denver’s mayor and district attorney to raise millions of dollars for the Center.

The Rose Andom Center opened in June 2016, and it recently won a Downtown Denver Award for its impact on the city. It’s the first of its kind in the region, and has so far helped more than 1,000 clients, including more than 350 children.
