Gina Hein

TM Docket Administrator & Matter Registration Officer

Gina Hein
What have been your career highlights?

I joined Hogan Lovells in 2010 as a Personal Assistant. This was a great experience as amongst other things, I had the chance to organize business travel for senior lawyers and also collaborated in the preparation of pitches. Moreover I received lots of training in relation to Intellectual Property (IP) and took advantage of many of the available internal webinars.

Only half a year later, I was offered a new job position in the Matter Registration Department. This involved Conflict check requests and Client and Matter Registrations. Soon afterwards I also joined our Docketing Department which has become in the meantime the EU Central Docketing Department.  I have been managing data input and noting deadlines not only for our office but also for Hogan Lovells Amsterdam, Madrid, Milan, Munich, London and Paris.
It's amazing to be in touch with colleagues from other offices on a daily basis and get to know how IP is being handled in other jurisdictions. I have also been involved in the data entry of worldwide trade mark portfolios of well-known companies. One of my personal highlights was attending the EUTM Module of Magister Lvcentinvs organized by the EUIPO. This experience gave me a better understanding of Trademark Law.

What do you like more about working at Hogan Lovells?

What I most like about working in this firm is the motivating dynamic work environment, camaraderie atmosphere and the citizenship activities. I also enjoy attending meetings and video conferences with other Hogan Lovells offices in relation to Central Docketing as it also gives me a kind of overview of the way other offices are working.
Joining Hogan Lovells has given me the opportunity to have both, great work and colleagues all in one.
