I joined Hogan Lovells in September 2016 as an intern working in the Real Estate department. At the same time I was also on my way to achieving my master’s degree in law at the Warsaw University. Joining Hogan Lovells as an intern gave me a huge opportunity to learn from the talented and experienced lawyers who work there. It was a great experience for an aspiring lawyer to use knowledge gained from lectures and seminars in practice.

As I have learned in HL, real cases and their complexity require far more from the person handling them than the hardest exams and the strictest examiners can achieve. I wanted to make good use of all the time I spent in HL, and the lawyers who work there made it possible. I worked with people who, even with their busy schedules, always managed to find time to show me new things, answer my questions, and explain any uncertainties I had; something I really appreciate and am grateful for. My responsibilities were very diverse, ranging from assistance in preparing due diligences, contacting and dealing with authorities, and carrying out case research, to drafting official documents. I was challenged in a variety of ways, but could always rely on the team’s support.

A very important thing for me as an intern in HL was the fact that the atmosphere in the team was very friendly and the people around me were patient, willing to cooperate, and happy to assist each other whenever the situation called for it. I feel that the experience of working for Hogan Lovells has really broadened my horizons and allowed my skills to blossom, and I will always remember it as a huge stepping stone in my career as a professional lawyer.
