Deborah Staudinger practices principally in the business and finance area with significant experience in financing and secured transactions, including representing both lenders and various borrowers in asset-based, cash flow, and large portfolio/real property lending transactions, leveraged buyouts, and mezzanine facilities. She also advises clients on other commercial matters, particularly with respect to the status of collateral under the Uniform Commercial Code. She has advised institutional lenders, sponsors, and borrowers in various industries, including health care, life sciences, telecommunications, and oil and gas. Deborah has also represented buyers and sellers in transactions involving large infrastructure projects and energy-related assets.
Deborah also works closely with the firm's bankruptcy litigation attorneys as necessary on a variety of matters. She has represented distressed companies and creditors in connection with the purchase of assets from bankruptcies and other restructuring efforts aimed at avoiding bankruptcy.
Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Deborah practiced with another major, international law firm. Prior to her legal career, Deborah worked for public utility company First Energy, where she gained a broad range of experience with nuclear issues, including Nuclear Regulatory Commission licenses and radioactive waste matters.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Representation of a commercial lender in negotiating a firm credit commitment to provide $1.3 billion in acquisition financing.
- Representation of a commercial lender in a $167 million complex transaction related to acquisition financing for 25 senior housing facilities.
- Representation of a syndicate of commercial lenders in a $500 million complex revolving loan secured by various classes of collateral, including 36 senior housing facilities, accounts receivable, and other associated assets.
- Representation of a private, international oil and gas exploration company in a $250 million multinational credit facility.
- Representation of an international drill bit company in various multinational credit facilities.
