Colin Craik's practice focuses on international banking, corporate finance and project finance. He has represented both borrowers and lenders in numerous cross-border finance transactions, including secured and unsecured transactions; senior, mezzanine and subordinated debt issues; leveraged acquisition financing; and project finance transactions in a wide variety of industry sectors.

Colin is recommended in the latest edition of Chambers UK as having "a strong understanding of secured finance transactions" and being a "highly capable negotiator."

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
  • Represented HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud in the purchase of Citigroup convertible preferred shares by a trust created by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud as part of a US$12.5 billion private offering.
  • Advising X5 Retail Group, Russia's largest retail chain group, on its $800M dual currency syndicated facility.
  • Advising Kingdom Holding Company on the acquisition financing for its "take private" public tender offer for Kingdom Hotel Investments based in Dubai. This transaction won the "IFLR Middle East M&A Deal of the Year Award" 2010.
  • Represented a major Russian nickel producer in the refinancing of a US$1.5 billion pre export facility.
  • Advised Norilsk Nickel Group on the acquisition financing relating to Norilsk Nickel's successful CAN $6.8 billion takeover of the listed Canadian mining group LionOre Mining International Ltd.
  • Advised Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. on the acquisition financing of six hotels from Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc. located in England, Spain, Italy and Poland.
  • Advising Ferrovie dello Stato S.p.A in connection with its syndicated Euro 1,500,000,000 facility
  • Advising PKN ORLEN S.A. in connection with its Euro 2,625,000,000 multicurrency revolving facility
