Aleksandra Kuc-Makulska has been a member of the Intellectual Property, Media and Technology Department at Hogan Lovells in Warsaw since 2007. She concentrates on industrial property law, in particular trademark and design protection, unfair competition, domain names, and copyrights. Aleksandra advises and represents clients in trademark infringements, and unfair competition matters before general courts of all instances, including the Supreme Court. Aleksandra has extensive experience in litigation before the Polish Patent Office and administrative courts, including oppositions, revocations, and invalidity actions.
Aleksandra advises in connection with transactions, as well as providing on-going legal services. She drafts and negotiates all types of contracts concerning trademarks including licenses, and assignments. She conducts trademark searches, and drafts legal opinions regarding risks connected with the registration and use of trademarks. In 2011, Aleksandra worked for two months in the Hogan Lovells Alicante office in Spain on matters pending before the OHIM.
Aleksandra graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University and from the Study of English and European Law at the Centre of English and European Law at Cambridge University. She also studied at the Faculty of Law at Århus University in Denmark. In 2006, she graduated from her Postgraduate Studies in the field of Intellectual Property at Warsaw University. Aleksandra has been a legal advisor, and a member of the Bar in Warsaw since 2010.Since 2012, Aleksandra has been a Patent and Trademark Attorney trainee, and a member of the Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys.
